Life's Ride...

Life’s Ride

As emotions erupt I take hold of myself
The things that I'm feeling are just what I've been dealt
Some say it's the Moon or the tides that are at fault
I'm not sure that is true but it is worth more thought

Could the stars play a part in the way that we feel
Have the sun and planets some secrets they conceal
We have abandoned our nature as we have grown
And so muffled our senses from all we had known

This roller coaster ride is so hard to stay on
Cause one day I'm up then down on the next one
A carousel ride is more appealing to me
It hasn't many highs or those downs I don't need

The pace is much slower I can see where I've been
And if I should want to it'll come back round again
I crave for the comforts of that which I've known
Or maybe for the times just before I was grown

So we travel through life on one ride or another
Like an ancient ship that's lost use of its' rudder
I believe the answers are much closer to home
And that we must find them within our own souls
