Life's Voyage

Sometimes it seems we all have the need
To visit the dark corners of our minds
Stepping with care as we travel the path
Of understanding, bought with passing time

It seems to be something we can’t deny
For we are all just human after all
Life is a voyage we must complete
With detours that may cause us to fall

But without a past there can be no future
No present to stumble through somehow
Without the bitter we would not know
Just how sweet life can be for us now

Memories, hopes and dreams occupy
Special places in our hearts and minds
Each is necessary for survival
For progression and balance in our lives

Grant each time to its’ own existence
And know that there is a need for all
We have the choice to dwell within each
Yet without the need for total recall
