In My Dreams

When I close my eyes for sleep tonight
Will I find you there waiting for me
When I let go of reality
Will you come to me then in my dreams

Will you come to me, arms open wide
And hold me throughout my slumber
Will you whisper words of love my dear
Erasing the pain that encumbers

Will you wipe away the tired lines
That have mapped the years upon my face
And take me back to our yesterday
When love and laughter were common place

Will you touch me gently as we talk
With the music so softly playing
As we reminisce of times gone by
And retrace all our years of loving

Will you hold me tight and kiss my lips
Igniting a glow within my eyes
Then kiss me again and feel the warmth
Of embers burning from deep inside

When I close my eyes for sleep tonight
Will you come to me in my dreams
And love me until the morning light
When the sun erupts with changing scenes
