Time

I used to be brave a long time ago
With my future ahead time wasn't my foe
Deep within my heart a young woman's dreams
I knew what I wanted went for that gold ring

Always a step forward never taking one back
Believe in your dream just change what you lack
Every day something new meant to be cherished
Grab it and hold on don't let it perish

Mellowing with time I did what most do
Left some strengths behind checked all for value
Priorities changed as they should with time
It's never that easy to change a lifeline

Now time is against me a constant threat
It fools my whole world with many regrets
What would I have changed if given the chance
Much less then you'd think with only a glance

I've thought long and hard and still didn't find
The answer to questions that plagued my mind
It's taken a lifetime to finally see
That most things in life are as they should be
