Why

Let's fill up our picnic baskets
and spruce up the little kids
we're going to watch a hanging
to see a man pay for what he did

Some people will call it revenge
to me it's just retaliation
but tit-for-tat or eye-for-eye
either way it's retribution

We set ourselves as examples
for the world to take their cue
We think our way is better then most
but how do we show them that it's true

Why is it that we always feel
we need to see the deed to know
that we made the right decision
So come and watch the horrid show

If we need to see this take place
just where is our civility
What pleasure is it that we find
in watching someone cease to be
